Why can't ordinary humans accept the Being's appeareance?

Humans do not accept his appearance because he is made up of different body parts. He doesn't look like what the humans are used to seeing. The community or society has standards about what people should look like and the monster doesn't meet those standards. The community is prejudiced against the monster because he's the only one of his kind and they do not see passed his grotesque appearance. They don't bother to know the monster for who he truly is. "I have good dispositions; my life had been hitherto harmless and in some degree beneficial; but a fatal prejudice clouds their eyes, and where they ought to see a feeling and kind friend, they behold only a detestable monster (p. 95)." His appearance is all they see and they are blind to the fact that he could very well be a good person. The monster knows that people would see passed his friendly ways and see his deformities. His situation relates well to racism. People are quickly judged by what's on the outside, instead of what the person can offer. The reason for so much emphasis on physical similarity is beacuse people aren't open-minded to other peoples' differences. It's easier to have something in common with others that look like you.
